Clean, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, friendly and helpful staff. We were in Purmerend for a family funeral and they printed off a map and translated the directions into English for us. The food was good, plenty of choice for breakfast and a good dinner menu. It was near the town centre of Purmerend with good links to Amsterdam and nearby attractions such as Edam and Volendam.
There wasn't anything we really disliked about the hotel. It would have been nice to have tea making facilities in the room and the choice of an English type breakfast tea during the day, but these are just minor issues and it would certainly not deter us from staying there again.

Pleasant hotel convenient for Purmerend and Amsterdam. Staff very helpful
Two beds pushed together are not a double bed!! Sleeping was unconfortable because there were two single mattresses not a proper double one. The booking is misleading on this.

Cozy twin room with a comfy bed and all you need for a coffee or tea fix, a TV with plenty of channels, and a desk for getting some work done. Also, it's in a spot that's super close to the center of Amsterdam! 🌟

I thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable and pleasant hotel.
Came here for easter, had sunny 3 days overall. The room was well-appointed, and it had a safe, central heating, and an electronic key card that where useful.

Great parking, good breakfast, comfortable room and great bathroom and shower. Easy access to town by foot.
Te and coffee should be standard in all rooms as in the UK

The hotel is near the center of Purmerend, but in a very quiet corner surrounded by a canal with geese and trees. It has a wide parking area that is free and rents very good bicycles at low price. The room was wide and comfortable.
Breakfast and internet connexion are expensive. Most rooms are in the first floor and the hotel has not elevator.

Thank you to all the staff at Van Der Valk for a great stopover experience. Cons: Could not be improved in any way. 🌟.

The location was mind-blowing, just a few minutes' walk to the city center and the bus station. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was jaw-dropping with a variety of rolls, pastries, bacon, eggs, and sausages. The Easter chocolate eggs were a sweet touch. The hotel was quiet, pleasant, and welcoming, with a beautiful garden terrace. The room was of great quality, clean, and accessible. The view from the room when the shutters opened was amazing, and there was outdoor space to sit in. The light in the room was of high quality, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel had free Wi-Fi, free parking, a 24-hour reception, flat-screen TV, electric kettle, and cots if needed. We will definitely recommend this place and come back again. Thanks to the whole team!
